Art Deco No Heat Purple Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond 18ct Yellow Gold Trilogy Engagement Ring (0.65ct)

Circa 1930s to 40s, this trilogy design engagement ring is a rare find! She is set with a wonderful natural untreated purple Sapphire, accentuated by two colourless round Swiss cut Diamonds.

Mounted on 18CT Yellow Gold shank, the centre natural Sapphire has no indication of treatment and shows subtle colour change effect. It radiates a vibrant violet-ish purple colour in daylight, changing to a strong red-ish purple under incandescent light. The colour change effect is mesmerizing, more subtle compared to lab-created colour change sapphire. There is no indication of heat treatment. It measures approximately 0.55ct (6mm by 4.6mm).

The adjacent good quality colourless old cut (Swiss cut) Diamonds are eye-clean, bright and of great presence. Each Diamond measures approximately 2.3mm in diameter, assessed diamond clarity is SI, colour I (estimated total diamond weight is 0.10ct).

Hallmarked by Birmingham Assay Office as 18ct gold with Sponsor Mark H.S (part of the hallmark is rubbed). In excellent condition, some minor nibbles on the Sapphire facets expected due to age but only visible under a loupe. With gift presentation packaging.
