Circa 1900, this harmonious and elegant Edwardian era brooch is embellished with good quality natural Diamonds. It is millegrain and grain set throughout with Old European brilliant-cut and single-cut Diamonds, to a platinum setting.
The centre Diamond measures approximately 4.4mm in diameter (estimated 0.32ct), assessed diamond clarity is VS and colour G/H. It is eye-clean, bright and of great presence! Old cut diamonds are well sought after, they were hand cut so each one is unique and this gives them that extra charm.
There are additional 18 small diamonds, range from 1.6mm to 1.3mm in diameter. Estimated total diamond weight for this brooch is 0.62ct.
This beautifully made platinum diamond brooch is a part of Canadian jewellery history. It is stamped PLATINUM and Ryrie, a premier jewellery company in Toronto, Canada during the 19th and 20th centuries.
