Description
This victorian style natural Opal and Sapphire ring features three beautifully matched and bright natural jelly Opals in popular gypsy set, with alternate set natural blue Sapphires. Mounted on comfortable 9CT Yellow Gold D-shaped shank, the wide ring face is a real eye-catcher!
Dates back to 1971, the gemstones are set flushed with the ring surface. The mounted Jelly Opals have a mesmerizing jelly appearance, with light body colour and plenty of green, red, yellow, orange, blue flashes on them. They are lively and colourful, and the multi-coloured flashes can be observed from various angles. The adjacent natural dark blue Sapphires show contrast in colour, they go surprisingly well with the Opals and Yellow Gold mounting.
She has British hallmarks, marked 9, 375, date letter q (1971) and assayed in London. It is also marked G&TJ. The wide ring face measures approx.10mm height x 21mm width.
She is in very good preowned condition, some sign of wear and repair expected due to age, the gemstone setting has been checked and confirmed to be secure. She has been professionally re-polished very recently and is ready to find a lovely new home.
